We're hiring a Content and Copy Editor with expertise in driving results by deeply understanding our target market and writing compelling content and copy that attracts attention. 

The successful candidate must successfully manage the responsibilities of creating and distributing Booker content (articles, guides, checklists, etc) and writing copy for our various marketing materials, including website, landing pages, ads, etc. 

Skills needed for the role

 

  • Deep understanding of how content is discovered on the web (SEO and social) and how to plan and write materials that will help Booker accomplish our sales/lead gen goals 
  • Love for social media and understanding how to educate and entertain our audience by offering them content on topics they need to understand to more successfully run their businesses
  • Excitement about writing content for small business owners in the health, wellness, and beauty verticals 
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to set and maintain the tone and style for Booker content 

 

What you'll do day-to-day: 

  • Work with Director, Marketing and Communications, to plan, create, and execute results-driving content strategy and tactics.
  • Write, source, or outsource compelling copy for to populate and drive each aspect of the marketing funnel.
  • Help recruit and manage subject-expert focused bloggers for broad SMB business topics, as well as each vertical market.
  • Upload all content into CMS; source / create graphics; schedule posts.
  • Manage external resources (freelancers/agency) to produce additional content
  • Create ad copy for display and social advertising.
  • Copyedit outbound marketing materials.
  • Manage a 90-day content calendar that outlines the specific materials that we will publish across all channels.
  • Work closely with other members of the marketing department to ensure that their materials are written and scheduled for optimal production and distribution.
  • Reporting and analysis of of content and campaign effectiveness across distribution channels.
  • Maintain a high awareness of competitors' content marketing strategies.
  • Execute against SEO strategy based on keyword volume, competitive rankings, searcher intent, and lead funnel stage.
  • Optimizing existing website pages, materials, and campaigns.
  • Create new landing pages and article content for mid-to-late funnel keywords.
  • Make sure blog user experience is optimized for maximum time on site and lead conversion potential.

Must Have: 

  • At least 5 years experience writing marketing materials targeted to small and medium sized businesses.
  • Full understanding of the SEO content marketing cycle.
  • Prior experience managing other writers and content producers.
  • Excellent writing skills with strong grasp of grammar.
  • Understanding of SMB market, and SaaS, ideally.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Able to meet or exceed deadlines.

    SENIOR DESIGNER

    Booker is looking for a talented, creative and passionate senior designer to join our marketing team. This role will work closely with a diverse marketing team to deliver stellar digital experiences and compelling advertising. The Sr Designer will also help us implement a brand refresh and set the standard for use of the Booker brand as well as creating a wide variety of creative assets.

    The right candidate will have the ability to understand the needs of each project and be nimble enough to switch from one to the other without missing a mark.     Fun things you'll get to work on:

    • A brand refresh and new website design.

    • Design websites, email campaigns, banner ads, interactive campaigns, landing pages, video assets, social media campaigns & more, while maintaining brand guidelines and working under tight deadlines.

    • Ensure a high level of quality and consistency from minute details to "big picture" on each project.

    • Present work to both marketing and cross-functional teams.

    • Update copy and images on designs for final delivery and implementation.

    • Take feedback from stakeholder and implement design changes.

    Requirements:

    • Passion for creating excellent design and natural interest in keeping an eye on what’s current as well as new design tools to create mock-ups, prototypes, etc.

    • Experience designing for responsive websites, landing pages, e-mail blasts, banner ads, microsites, etc. (We will ask you for samples and to complete a design project as part of the interview process).

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain design best practices for web and print and provide background and explanation for design decisions as needed.

    • Experience presenting design mock-ups and other assets to stakeholders.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Computer Animation (or related field). BFA a huge plus.

    • Design versatility is a must and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.

    • 5+ years professional experience as a Graphic Designer.
